tw3c #19: Become a DE&I ally with your Web3 product or service ๐ค
Launch and scale your product or service with CRM for Web3.
Welcome and GM to The Web3 CRM Brief - or short, tw3c.
tw3c is the number one Web3 CRM newsletter for founders and marketers who want to learn how to launch and scale a Web3 product or service with CRM tactics. In this newsletter, I'll share the most interesting stories about
๐ best practices to steal with pride๐ on-chain wallet data & analyticsโ tool tips to make your life easierand actionable resources to make the most of your Web3 communities!
After your positive feedback, we're making it a staple: One Checklist becomes part of the core content of tw3c.
When building new products and experiences, there are a ton of aspects, nuances and plannings that go into preparing a launch. The One Checklist of the week aims to highlight seemingly small, yet important considerations that easily slip in the hectic day-to-day. We're starting with building in DEI from the get-go.
๐ One Checklist: Building Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Into Web3
In a world that thrives on innovation and technological evolution, diversity, equity, and inclusion should not be considered mere buzzwords or afterthoughts. They should be at the very heart of product development. The technology we create today shapes the world of tomorrow, and if we want that world to be one that respects and cherishes the rich tapestry of human experience, building DE&I into our products or services can't be an afterthought.
This checklist aims to make it easy to integrate one or more levers for an equitable, inclusive experience:
๐ฒ Elevate Voices of People with Disabilities:Include talented people with disabilities in tech, user design, engineering, and R&D in the development and discussion of your Web3 products or services.
๐ฒ Represent Diversity in Digital Identities: Create diverse avatars based on real people with varying abilities, backgrounds, and identities. Include both visible and unseen disabilities, and represent a wide spectrum of body types, colors, and shapes.
๐ฒ Design for Agency: With Web3, there's potential for greater user control. Make sure your Web3 products allow users to maintain control of their data.
๐ฒ Collaborate with Other Tech and Platform Providers: Join forces with others in the industry to create personalized and accessible experiences for all users, taking into consideration their unique needs.
๐ฒ Consider Accessibility in Mixed Reality: Innovate to make mixed reality experiences accessible to people with disabilities. Think about how you can guide users through these spaces with understanding of their specific needs.
๐ฒ Sustainability and Efficiency: Consider the sustainability of your products and services, with a focus on reducing waste and improving efficiency in design and innovation.
๐ฒ Develop Business Cases: Build strong business cases for inclusion, accessibility, and diversity in your Web3 products and services, considering not just the ethical but also the profitability aspect.
Thank you for being an ally!
๐ One Metric To Consider This Week: Number Of Steps To Onboard
The Number of Steps in the onboarding process is an important metric because it can directly impact user experience and user conversion. This is based on a fundamental principle of usability: the simpler and more intuitive a process is, the more likely users are to complete it.
๐ Is each step necessary and adds value? If a step doesn't contribute significantly to the process, it might be a candidate for removal or simplification.
๐ Also, different users have different needs and abilities. The number of steps should not only be minimal but also clearly explained and easy to understand for all users, regardless of their tech-savviness or familiarity with web3. This ensures that the onboarding process is not only efficient but also equitable and inclusive.
๐ Offer a variety of support options (like text, video, or even live support) for different steps, as users have diverse preferences and abilities when it comes to learning new processes. This will ensure that your onboarding process is inclusive and caters to a wide range of user needs.
โ One Tool To Look At This Week: Frens
My journey in the Web3 world has been exciting, but also challenging, especially when it comes to community building and engagement around the tw3c community. It's a common struggle many others in Web3 face as well.
You can have the most disruptive, groundbreaking Web3 product, but if you don't build a community around it, chances are it will fall flat. After all, one of the core tenets of Web3 is decentralization, which is impossible without a strong, engaged community.
But, how do you foster a community that's not only engaged but also organically growing?
Enter frens, an innovative tool, designed to help you build a robust Web3 community. Created by a team that truly understands the dynamics of Web3 communities, frens offers a comprehensive platform to know and grow your communities. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it's at the top of my tool list to test over the next few weeks.

A few bits I look forward to testing:
frens integrates seamlessly with key tools Web3 communities already use: MetaMask, Twitter, Discord, Hiro Wallet, Xverse. It's designed for community managers of DAOs, NFT projects, DeFi projects, Web3 gaming projects, and more.
With frens, you can easily identify the Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and contributors in your community, track who holds the most tokens/NFTs, monitor who is active in Discord, and see who is spreading the word on Twitter.
Thinking organic-first growth by leveraging functionalities like members inviting their friends, making it easier to share important info on social platforms and facilitating collaborations with other communities.
Kudos to Drew & team for building this :)
โInclusion is not a matter of political correctness. It is the key to growth.โ
