👋 One Best Practice: Deutsche Telekom And T-Mobile Leverage Swarm Intelligence To Advance Web3 In Telco
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
Collaboration is one of the core mindsets in web3. German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom and its US subsidiary T-Mobile are taking this to the next level on May 23rd with this year's T Challenge. And it's all about web3.
The task: Use decentralized technology to innovate in telecommunication aiming to create a more human centered internet.
Let's take a look at what the corporates focus on to advance the telco industry:
Customer engagement and loyalty
Decentralized IDs & wallets
Network & infrastructure
Media, entertainment & experiential
Sustainability
What can we learn from their approach to web3 innovations? First and foremost, when building solutions, incorporate diverse perspectives. Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile achieve this by fishing beyond the Magenta pond and inviting a diverse group ranging from start-ups and SMBs to academic institutions and researchers all the way to creative agencies and designers to pitch their ideas.
Secondly, they acknowledge that innovation requires experimentation with many different approaches and that one should not commit to a single path too soon. They encourage an open attitude toward the focus areas. For example, the focus areas for customer engagement and loyalty give both an indication of the technological advances and use cases we can expect in the future, and an openness to finding out what adds the most value from a consumer perspective:

Next time you try to tackle a business or industry problem, why not make a contest or hackathon out of finding possible solutions and leverage swarm intelligence through collaboration and co-creation?
📊 One Metric To Consider This Week: Proportion Of Tokens With Trades
From companies like Deutsche Telekom to web3 native startups, all are trying to develop value-based models that improve relationships with consumers and get them to stay loyal to a project or brand longer.
If you want to find out how committed your user base is to you, the proportion of tokens with trades x days ago could be an important metric.
This metric looks at the trading patterns of your tokens, such as loyalty or reward tokens from your loyalty program.
If there's an increase in tokens being sold for the first time since their mint, it might indicate an increase in users leaving your loyalty program.
Diving deeper into why these patterns emerge should be a crucial next step to optimize the programs's growth and stability.
⛓ One Tool To Look At This Week: Notifi - Notifications For dApps
Research shows that our brains release dopamine as soon as we see the flashing light on our smartphones when a new push notification comes in.
Notifications have been a way for app-based businesses to retain their customers, sharpen their personalized targeting and ultimately, increase revenue. Can we do the same with dApps?
Decentralized apps have the same needs as centralized apps. However, given the fragmented blockchain ecosystems, and mix of web2 and web3 communication channels, they don't have the same infrastructure to reach their users effectively. Yet.
Notifi, the tool recommendation of the week, is filling this gap by providing a communication and messaging infrastructure that enables dApps to use customized notifications across most of the layer-1 blockchains.

✅ Easily integrateable APIs and software development kits (SDKs)✅ On-chain and off-chain messaging across multiple L1's✅ Developer- and user-facing interfaces✅ Cross-chain notifications
Kudos to Paul & team for building this :)
"Every day we’re saying, ‘How can we keep this customer happy?’ How can we get ahead in innovation by doing this, because if we don’t, somebody else will."
